deceptive lines

From the whirlwind year of 1971 comes the sole album by Plum Nelly, an underrated gem in the world of U.S. progressive hard rock. Deceptive Lines is a masterclass in complex arrangements, jazzy touches, and searing proto-metal guitar riffs, drawing comparisons to legends like The Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd, and Black Sabbath. The album seamlessly blends heartfelt ballads with hard-hitting psych epics and electrifying guitar-driven jams. Despite the band’s undeniable talent—these young New Yorkers were barely out of their teens—poor promotion left this record flying under the radar upon its original release. But this reissue is here to change that, giving Deceptive Lines the spotlight it deserves and ensuring this hard rock classic is no longer a hidden treasure.
