Belgian guitarist Philip Catherine came in Finland in 1974 on recommendation by American saxophonist Charlie Mariano. Catherine gave master classes and played some gigs with Eero Koivistoinen. Catherine was also recorded live with the Eero Koivistoinen Quartet at the Liisankatu studios by the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE. Koivistoinen’s ensemble included Heikki Sarmanto on electric piano, his brother Pekka Sarmanto on double and electric bass, and Reino “Reiska” Laine on drums.
