Boston folkie Jaime Brockett became an underground radio sensation with his epic ballad 'Legend of the U.S.S. Titanic', which updated the old Leadbelly song about how black prizefighter Jack Johnson had been denied passage on the Titanic because of his race to offer an, er, alternative explanation as to why the ocean liner sank (the captain and first mate were high from smoking hemp rope)! Now, we don't want to accuse our customers of illegal activities, but apparently a fair minority were at the very least tuning into their FM dial during the late '60s, as we have been inundated with requests for this song and the album on which it appeared. Other tracks include the Michael Smith tongue-twister 'Talkin' Green Beret New Super Yellow Hydraulic Banana Teeny Bopper Blues; Remember the Wind and the Rain; St. Botolph St. Grey Morning Dulcimer Thing; Bluechip; Nowadays; Suzzane; One Too Many Mornings', and 'Bag on the Table' on what is definitely a countercultural classic, here reissued with original art and new notes.
