a mid-price release for john hammond jr's 1976 album. recorded live in vanguard's 23rd street studio in new york and produced by label founder maynard solomon. always preferring to interpret other writers' songs than compose himself, here hammond performs tracks by elmore james, howling wolf and muddy waters, among others.
