Limited to 300 copies, this release showcases the brilliance of Houston’s own The Lemon Fog, who captivated listeners during 1967–68. Their debut single, originally titled “Theme for the Living Eye” and later released as “Lemon Fog”, was a standout example of psych-pop and flower-power sophistication—hinting at the refined psychedelic gems the band would go on to create. Its B-side, “Echoes of Time,” sparkled with a sound evocative of the British psychedelic wave.

Their follow-up single, “Summer,” has since become the band’s defining track. With its somber, introspective mood, it stood in stark contrast to typical cheerful summer anthems—capturing themes of alienation and monotony. The Lemon Fog’s ongoing exploration of electronic textures became a signature element of their recordings.

What’s most astonishing is that these intricate, surreal, and musically tight psychedelic compositions were crafted while the members were still in high school—a testament to their exceptional talent and forward-thinking artistry.
