Released in 1979, this is the second album by the German progressive medieval folk group. Building on the success of their debut which was recorded on a two track with only a few takes available for each song, the six piece had the opportunity for a lengthy session with an eight track. This explains the addition of lyres, tampura, tabla, recorder, glokenspiel, mandolin, double bass and various other overdubs. Known for their lengthy improvisations that wander into classical territories and European folk themes, the highlight has to be the twenty minute "Regenreigen." Expanded with four live tracks recorded a few months after the album sessions, including a cover of the Gratful Dead's.
