will malone: will malone

Will Malone was a member of UK psych-pop outfit Orange Bicycle. In 1970, he released this obscure solo album for the Fontana label. Apparently, fewer than 200 copies reached the shops at the time, so this is one of the rarest UK major label albums ever with original copies fetching £2.000. The music contained here is reminiscent of a psychedelic Donovan, full of baroque arrangements (flute, oboe, strings, bass, acoustic guitar), occasional trippy effects, pastoral & haunting folk-like songs and the fragile voice of Malone. Essential to anyone into UK psychedelia and obscure singer/songwriter stuff. Reissued for the first time on vinyl, original artwork.
