This album is the sole solo release by American soul singer James “Baby Huey” Ramey. Tragically, he passed away at just 26 while in the process of recording it, and the album was completed and issued posthumously. Over the years, The Baby Huey Story has gained legendary status, becoming a cult classic cherished by soul enthusiasts and musicians alike. Its standout track, “Hard Times,” has been widely sampled by numerous artists and was notably covered by John Legend and The Roots in 2010 for their album Wake Up!.
