Like "Rock ’n Soul," "Beat & Soul" was a 1965 collection of covers, except this time, there was a mix of new and old songs, performed by a killer band that included Glen Campbell, James Burton, Jim Gordon, Larry Knechtel and two youngsters that would make some noise later in the decade and into the next, Leon Russell and Billy Preston! And, like great cover versions should, the Everlys made these songs sound like their own (except for the great "Man with Money," which the duo penned themselves, and was later covered in turn by the Who).
