The Brown Acid series is a highly regarded set of compilation albums released by RidingEasy Records in partnership with Permanent Records. First launched in 2015, the series uncovers rare and little-known tracks recorded between the late 1960s and early 1980s, with a focus on proto-metal, heavy psychedelic rock, garage rock, and the early foundations of hard rock.

Each volume—called a "Trip"—features carefully selected songs that were originally self-released or issued in small numbers by obscure local bands of the era. Although many of these tracks showcase impressive musicianship and raw energy, they went largely unnoticed at the time due to limited distribution and the absence of major label support. Brown Acid seeks to revive and spotlight these forgotten recordings, helping to preserve a vibrant yet overlooked chapter in rock history.
