Exuma was the stage name of Macfarlane Gregory Anthony Mackey, a Bahamian musician and mystic who emerged in the late 1960s with a sound that defied genre boundaries. Combining folk, African rhythms, psychedelia, calypso, and voodoo-inspired chants, Exuma created a uniquely spiritual and theatrical musical identity.

Exuma is his debut album, released in 1970, and it's a vivid, ritualistic blend of voodoo folk and psychedelic soul, filled with chanting, drumming, and haunting vocals.

Tracks like "Exuma, the Obeah Man" and "Dambala" reflect his spiritual themes and connection to Obeah, a Caribbean folk magic tradition.

The album is both celebratory and eerie, offering a hypnotic listening experience unlike anything else at the time.

Though never a mainstream success, Exuma is considered a cult classic, praised for its raw authenticity, mysticism, and boundary-pushing style. It continues to influence artists interested in spiritual, experimental, and world-influenced music.
