fly away

Originally issued as a private pressing in 1978, Fly Away is the only album from Minotaurus, a six-piece progressive rock group from Oberhausen, Germany. Twin guitars, organ, Mellotron and synthesizer give the recording a broad symphonic character, supported by theatrical English-language vocals and a solid rock rhythm section.

The opening “7117” moves through contrasting instrumental themes and dramatic changes of pace, while “Your Dream” and “Lonely Seas” explore the group’s more melodic and atmospheric side. The extended title track is the album’s centrepiece, developing from spacious keyboard passages into powerful guitar-led sections. This Garden of Delights edition adds the previously unavailable “Sunflowers” and includes an extensive illustrated booklet.
