Rahsaan Roland Kirk's 1967 live performance Here Comes the Whistleman is jaw droppingly explosive. With Lonnie Smith and Jacki Byard taking turns on piano, Major Holley on bass and Charles Crosby on drums, Kirk releases his trademark multi-instrumental onslaught on a slew of then-new tunes including "Here Comes the Whistleman" and "Roots."
