After the release of "Camouflage Heart" in 1984, Cindytalk disappeared from the radar for four years, but this time was actually spent working on their epic "In This World," which was originally released as two separate vinyl LPs, available for individual purchase, but both entitled "In This World", with different cover art (now available on one 2LP or CD). Album one is jagged and intense while album two is more ambient and ethereal. In This World also features a reading by feminist punk poet Kathy Acker (Janey's Love). "In This World" is a noble venture. It's every inaccessible racket you could imagine but creeps gently in on the delectable title instrumental before kicking you in the navel with a hybrid broth of Motorslug, Swans, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, and generally alienating cacophonies. - Chris Roberts (Melody Maker)."
