Key Largo is best described as a collection of musicians seeking to create something fresh and unique within the supposedly limited misical boundaries of what most people would simply call "blues". But blues roots grow in all manner of places and in all manner of directions. African tribal rythms, Mardi Gras, the Memphis Sound, Chicago Southside, Downhome, even Miles Davis.... Elements of these can be found throughout this album.
