Dubbed by some the first acid folk album (and recently the subject of a shoddy bootleg which this legitimate reissue rectifies), Pat Kilroys Light of Day was way ahead of its (1966) time in its unstructured, jam-like, folk-blues workouts and in its use of "world" instruments like jews harp, glockenspiel, conga and tabla. Needless to say, such an unusual album has attained bona-fide cult status over the years; it appears here with notes by David Biasotti that contain remembrances from Stefan Grossman, who participated in the sessions.
