Liquid Smoke came from North Carolina, but were active and famous in Long Island, New York. Their only LP, a containing both originals and covers, was produced by Frijid Pink producer Vinny Testa was released in early 1970. The music is best described as classic blues-rock mixed with tasty hard-rock. Much of this album is organ based with great fuzz guitar parts, sounding a bit like Humble Pie and Vanilla Fudge, with quite some psychedelia added. Though an underrated band, Liquid Smoke were on par with those aforementioned groups.
