It's taken him four years but Ed Harcourt has reinvigorated himself with his fifth studio album. With co-producer Ryan Hadlock (Blonde Redhead, The Gossip) by his side and in his own studio, he has created a lusty album filled with charm, with songs that feel like a buoy.
Regained joie de vivre and overall optimism have been sprinkled all over this body of work, and yet it steers clear of any mealy-mouthed sweetness.
