more mellow cats & kittens

the blues magazines of the world went overboard for our first volume of "mellow cats & kittens" last year, and we confidently expect a repeat run of superlatives when they review this, our even-better second volume. primarily drawn once again from the early recordings of modern records, and supplemented with a generous portion of unreissued and unheard masters from the sensation catalogue, this cd once again focuses firmly on early post-wwii rhythm & blues. its solid mix of boogies, blues, jumpin' jive and small group instros will be enough keep even the hardest to please r & b fan deleriously happy... beautifully remastered from original acetate sources, and not one of the tracks featured has ever appeared on a previous ace lp or cd. indeed, to our knowledge not one of them has ever been reissued - especially the 15 that have never been issued at all prior to this cd... the world should look forward to a third volume of "mellow cats & kittens" sometime in 2006, as there really is plenty more where this came from.
