Bassist Eldee Young and drummer Isaac "Red" Holt spent the 1960s as Ramsey Lewis's rhythm section. By the time they recorded this soul jazz/instrumental groove classic in 1972, Young & Holt developed a solid funk/soul-jazz vibe similar to Curtis Mayfield's early '70s sound. Percussionist Ralph McDonald and keyboardists Richard Tee and Bobby Lyle set the foundation for this seriously funky session.
