CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF ELECTRONIC MUSIC is an original compilation that samples six tracks of six different composers of the French Seventies-inspired electronic music scene. These songs were played live on August 7th and 8th 2004 in Libourne (Near Bordeaux) when the "Close Encounters" took place. These encounters enabled many musicians and music lovers to meet each other through performances, collective listenings of records and debates about music. The resulting recording presents works by AWEN, NIGHTBIRDS, Bertrand LOREAU, Olivier BRIAND, Christian RICHET and Jean-Christophe ALLIER. Each of them, in his own style, endeavours to celebrate the heritage left by Klaus SCHULZE, TANGERINE DREAM, etc. France still has nice resources as far as mind-blowing music is concerned: here's a proof of it !
