Edinburgh indie-pop group, The Shop Assistants, formed in 1984 and released this, their one and only full length album in 1986. That same year they were featured on the legendary NME compilation, C86, the name of which is now commonly used to refer to a specific type of influential jangle-pop that Shop Assistants traffic in. A classic of the genre on par with the best of The Pastels or The Wedding Present. Essential.
