Clearly the better of East Of Eden albums, this second album is a much proggier statement than Mercator Projected, but it is still plagued with imperfections but none are glaring. The sound is rather different but is also tighter (different rhythm section), but the three frontmen Arbus, Caines and Nicholson are still there. "Snafu" is almost a jazz album, deeply rooted in the avant-garde - with it's Charles Mingus cover version, some tracks that play backwards etc. It's what the British press would've once called "jazz-tinged". And they had the bottle to pull singles from this album!"
