Son of Schmilsson is probably the weirdest record to reach number 12 in the charts and go Gold in the history of music. This incredibly schizoid record is the finest work of Harry Nilsson and contains a fantastic set of tracks that illustrate an enormous talented musician who never walks the same musical path twice.

The album is so full with song parodies, seemingly straight piano ballads, vulgar hard rock, lovely love songs and a cheerful sing-along that makes the whole a sheer perversity. Admittedly, Son of Schmilssonis all but an easy album to listen to but if you appreciate Nilsson's weird sense of humor in combination with his superb musicality, it is obvious that this album cannot be overlooked!   ""
