SÜNDENFALL II: Sündenfall II (LP)

Sündenfall II came from the Kevelaer area of Germany’s Lower Rhine region and recorded one of the more unusual private-pressing albums of the early 1970s. Originally released in 1972 in a tiny run of only 200 copies, the album blends folk, jazz and progressive rock, with flute, trumpet, guitar and male/female vocals giving the music a light but adventurous character.

The group had grown out of the earlier Sündenfall, which leaned more strongly toward jazz, but under the Sündenfall II name the sound became more colourful and song-based. The influence of Jethro Tull can be felt in the flute-driven parts, while tracks such as Warning, Montpellier, Dusty Road and Duftes Ding give the album its own German underground identity. This Garden Of Delights LP reissue comes with a four-page colour insert.
