Flamin’ Groovies – Supersnazz is the explosive 1969 debut album from one of San Francisco’s most individual rock & roll bands. While many of their West Coast contemporaries were immersed in psychedelia, the Flamin’ Groovies drew on the raw energy of 1950s rock & roll, R&B, garage rock and early pop, creating a sound that pointed toward both punk and power pop.

Led at the time by vocalist Roy Loney and guitarist Cyril Jordan, the band mixes original material with inspired interpretations of rock & roll and rhythm & blues favourites. “Love Have Mercy”, “Laurie Did It”, “Pagan Rachel” and “Around The Corner” sit alongside spirited versions of “The Girl Can’t Help It”, “Rockin’ Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu” and the pairing of “Somethin’ Else” with “Pistol Packin’ Mama”.

Supersnazz captures the Groovies at their wildest and most playful, combining tough guitars, vintage rock & roll attitude and a deliberately old-fashioned musical vocabulary with the energy of a late-1960s garage band.

This Culture Factory USA collector’s edition presents the album in Mini-LP papersleeve format with audio remastered in 96 kHz / 24-bit high definition.
