The 31st of February was an American rock band formed in the 1960s, known primarily for its role in the development of Southern rock. Based in Florida, the group was composed of Scott Boyer on guitar and vocals, David Brown on bass, and Butch Trucks on drums. Butch Trucks, later a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, was the most famous member of the trio.

Their first and only album originally released in 1969 on Vanguard, is a mixed folk-rock with psychedelic influences, a common style of the late ’60s. The album included tracks like "A Nickel’s Worth of Benny’s Help" and "The Greener Isle," showing their range from reflective to more socially aware lyrics. Though the band never achieved widespread success, they are remembered as an influential precursor in Southern rock and were instrumental in shaping some early sounds that carried over into the Allman Brothers Band’s music.
