Originally released in 1966, Tim Buckley introduced one of the most remarkable voices of the late 1960s folk-rock movement. Recorded when Buckley was still only 19, the album captures the young singer-songwriter at the start of a career that would soon move from delicate folk and baroque pop into far more adventurous and experimental territory.

The album was made for Elektra Records with a first-class creative team that included Jac Holzman, Paul Rothchild and engineer Bruce Botnick, all closely associated with the label’s classic West Coast sound. Buckley is joined by important musicians and arrangers including Lee Underwood, Jim Fielder, Van Dyke Parks, Billy Mundi and Jack Nitzsche, giving the record a polished yet intimate atmosphere.

Songs such as I Can’t See You, Wings, Song Of The Magician, Strange Street Affair Under Blue and Song For Jainie reveal Buckley’s early gift for expressive melody, poetic lyricism and emotional vulnerability. Newly remastered for vinyl and pressed on coke clear vinyl, this edition presents a beautiful early portrait of an artist who would become one of the most distinctive voices of his generation.
