When the short summer of love was over, from the seeds of flower power and sunshine pop a weird and poisonous plant emerged - dark and hopeless psychedelia. Suddenly it was not all about love, peace and doing your thing, but about bad trips, depression, loneliness, and hatred too. A sole album by Velvet Night is an important artifact of this early heavy psychedelia in USA, and it should be judged in the context - perhaps cultural & historical importance is above the musical achievement.
